We’re starting a book club!

Doing more things in our community and giving everyone a place where they can feel that they belong, is one of the biggest goals that LubbockPRIDE has. This is our first venture into creating those spaces. This particular Book Club will be for our fellow readers over the age of 18. Some of the books recommended and/or selected could have adult content.

Personally, when I was younger, books were the best place for me to escape. No matter what was going on in reality, I could jump into a book and find myself reflected in the characters and their adventures. Suddenly, the room I share with my sister could melt away, and I could go wherever I wanted to. I know that others in our community took solace in that same escape.

For our first meeting, we have a few things to accomplish that we need your help with. We need ideas on meeting places, times, frequency, and, of course, books! Please join us with all your ideas and recommendations. We want to know and hear about what will make this book club something you look forward to each meeting.

This page of our LubbockPRIDE website will be continuously updated with information that you need. Everything from resources to help your reading journey to up to date posts about the current book we are reading.

I really look forward to meeting with everyone and ensuring that my TBR will NEVER be completed!!!
